Library Non-Discrimination Policy
The Monona Public Library is committed to maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination. The Library does not discriminate on any basis prohibited by law or the terms of this policy, including, but not limited to: age, physical characteristics, race, creed, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, military status, disability, genetic predisposition or carrier status, marital status, political affiliation, arrest record, conviction record, or use or nonuse of lawful products off the library’s premises.
The library will not retaliate against any person who complains that the library has violated the policy. With respect to employment, this policy is subject to ss. 111.32 to 111.36 Wisconsin statues.
This policy shall apply to, but is not limited to, (1) any member of the public using or accessing library services and programs, (2) any employee, or candidate for employment, and (3) any non-employee providing goods or services to the Library.
In accordance with this policy all employees, volunteers, and Library Board members, are responsible for conducting themselves in a manner consistent with this policy.
